The WPHA-WALHDAB Conference Planning Committee is pleased to announce details for the 2024 Annual Public Health Conference, being held May 21-23, 2024. Join us in-person at the Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI or virtually!

Join over 500 public health “players” at our 2024 Annual Conference! We are excited to move public health in Wisconsin to the next level with our engaging speakers, diverse educational sessions, and opportunities to fill your cup personally and professionally. In addition to the high-quality learning and peer sharing that attendees have come to expect, the conference planning committee is intentionally creating space for individual reflection and relationship building, which are an integral part of advancing our quest of centering equity and public health. We want attendees to fully experience everything this conference has to offer and leave with connections, knowledge and resources that contribute to a healthier community and a leveled up public health workforce.

Conference Objectives

Rooted in the social-ecological model:

  1. Individual: Develop and grow personal, organizational, and policy-level interventions that boost you and your public health colleagues
  2. Relationship: Leverage the power of developing deeper, productive and more diverse partnerships
  3. Community: Expand and unlock approaches to engaging community partners to drive change
  4. Societal: Strengthen individual and collective capacity in the quest for policy change

Engage with members of our Annual Conference Planning Committee for a 1-hour conversation to go over basic aspects of registration, the conference venue, using Whova, the confernece app, and more!Whether you're new to public health or you're a seasoned attendee, we'll you'll learn tips and tricks on how to make the most of your time during the conference!

Call for Posters - closed

The Conference Planning Committee is no longer accepting abstracts for the 2024 Poster Hall. Over 30 attendees will be presenting their community work, research or other public health improvement initiatives as a poster at the conference.

Presenters will be available during a poster viewing session on Thursday, May 23 from 9:45-10:30am. This is dedicated time to share poster presentations to attendees!.

  • Early bird rate will expire April 19, 2024
  • Whether you are attending in person or virtually, registration rates are the same to allow for maximum attendee flexibility and a variety of participation options. Many sessions will be live-streamed, recorded and available for later viewing.
  • Wednesday night Awards Dinner is INCLUDED in the Full and Wednesday-Only ticket. Add-on ticket(s) available for purchase for Award Dinner guests (i.e. those not attending any part of the conference on Wednesday).
  • Registration is closed

Scholarships are available from the Wisconsin Public Health Association (WPHA) to cover the cost of the registration fee. This scholarship will provide full conference registration for those attending virtual or in person. Registration fee includes all meals that may be needed during the conference. Hotel rooms are not included in the scholarship. Requests must have been submitted by April 8, 2024.

Lodging Information

A block of rooms has been reserved for WPHA-WALHDAB’s Annual Public Health Conference. The cut-off date for the room block is Friday, April 19, 2024. The group rate is $98 for a double queen sofa room. Special rates are also available for deluxe 2-bedroom for up to 4 people.

For individual rooms, call 1-800-867-WILD, and tell the reservation agent to book a room under the Leader #A06504 at The Glacier Canyon Lodge. The block will already be at a discounted group rate.

The cut-off date is the last day to cancel individual rooms without penalty. After the cut-off date, there is a 72-hour cancellation policy per room. Reservations cancelled prior to the 72-hour mark will be charged a $30 fee. Cancellations within 72 hours pay for the entire room rate. Condos, Cabins & Villas are subject to a 14-day cancellation policy with a $30 cancellation fee.
