In a recent WALHDAB/DATCP Executive Committee meeting, it was discussed that non-agent counties weren't feeling they were made aware of foodborne illness complaints and outbreaks that DATCP has jurisdiction over but is still within their county. These non-agent counties expressed the importance of being aware of these complaints and outbreaks within their county as they often are the ones getting the phone calls. The group discussed opportunities to modify this issue and will use SharePoint to help.

Question: How does a non-agent get access to complaint information concerning DATCP regulated facilities within their jurisdiction?

Answer: Non-agents of DATCP can get access to complaints/complaint follow-up in their jurisdictions by getting added as a user of the Bureau of Food and Recreational Business (BFRB) SharePoint site. Once permission is granted to the BFRB SharePoint site a non-agent can click on the “Emergency Response” link to view the complaint tracking list. Sorting the list by the specific non-agent jurisdiction will show the complaint information.

For information on getting added to the BFRB SharePoint site contact Matt Schwei at:

The WALHDAB Executive Committee and the Environmental Health Specialty Section Chairs meet with DATCP leadership on a quarterly basis. If you have any questions, please contact the EH Section Chairs, Shayna Dye or Mark Melotik. View the minutes from the WALHDAB/DATCP Minutes here
