Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin 2014 Annual Report

The Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment's 2014 Annual Report reflects its activities during the period of July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2014.
During this reporting period, $8.6 million of Endowment funds were invested in 13 projects to address the leading causes of disease and disability and advance the health of communities across Wisconsin.
The report includes information regarding these 13 new projects, as well as three feature stories:
· CARING FOR THE CAREGIVER
There is more than one patient in cases of Alzheimer's disease and dementia
· RESEARCH CENTER FOCUSES ON KEEPING INFECTIONS FROM "GOING VIRAL"
The growth of the Center for Infectious Disease Research helps MCW scientists study parasites, viruses and bacteria to better prevent the spread of infectious disease
· MASTER OF PUBLIC HEALTH REIMAGINED AT MCW
Public health program provides statewide access to graduate education
Also during this reporting period, the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment celebrated its tenth anniversary with a conference in May of 2014. More than 250 MCW and community partners joined us for the event and shared their successful work in research, education and public and community health.
