WALHDAB-Lab Section List Serve Joining Instructions

Posted By Erica Bergstrom, Friday, October 27, 2017

Here are the instructions for using the Local Public Health Lab Network listserv and a list of current members.

Instructions

The listserv is used by network members throughout the year to communicate about different issues affecting their labs, ask questions and seek advice from lab network members. The listserv is unmoderated, meaning when you send an email to the list, it goes out to the group without anyone reviewing it. Our listserv is a closed list, so non-group members cannot subscribe to the list themselves. If there is someone in your agency that you would like to add to the list, please send me their name and mail address. I will add them to the approved member list.

Please remember that although our listserv has a limited membership, email is still not a secure means of communication. Be sure to follow proper HIPAA guidelines and also don't send any confidential information via the listserv. Also, the listserv is subject to Wisconsin’s public (open) records law.

How to send an email to the listserv -- It's very easy. Just put the following address in the To: box of your email –  wslh-phlabnetwork@lists.wisc.edu and fill in the rest of your email like usual. You can add the listserv address to your email Contacts list also.

How to reply to an email received via the listserv -- When you reply to an email sent on the listserv, your reply will go back to the entire listserv. So, for example, if Ruth in Wausau asks a question of the group and Rob in Green Bay wants to answer, he has two options: (Option 1) Hit Reply and his answer will go out to everyone on the list or (Option 2) Paste Ruth's email address into the To: box on his reply and his answer will go just to Ruth.

Adding/Deleting Listserv members – If you’d like to add or delete listserv members for your agency, please send me an email at jan.klawitter@slh.wisc.edu with the person’s name and email address and I’ll take care of it.

Who's a member of our listserv? The current membership is:

WALHDAB-EH July 21, 2016 Meeting Registration

Posted By Natalie Vandeveld, Tuesday, June 28, 2016

I am preparing for our next meeting, July 21, 2016 at Sky Club at 2202 Post Road, Plover.

1.  Call out for Agenda Items-

Attached is the start of the agenda for the next meeting.  You will notice that Steve Ingham will be present at the meeting. If you have a topic/issue that you would like to discuss with Steve, please send those to me as I can forward those to him to assist in his response.

I am also calling out for other items to be included to the agenda.  Please have those items submitted to me by July 18th.   If possible, please include some detail about the topic item and what you are requesting from the group (if applicable).  This will help everyone to be prepared for the meeting and allow for a good discussion.

2. Online Registration

Please register for the meeting at http://www.walhdab.org in the Events Calendar section of the WALHDAB website.    If other individuals from your agency are attending, please forward this email to them and have them register.  This will assist in ensuring there is enough space for each attendee at the meeting.  Please register by July 18th

3. WALHDAB Group Meeting Ticket

This is a new feature to the registration process and hopefully will help many members.  The cost is equal to the cost of the meal that is associated with the meeting and you can submit payment as part of the registration process.  There is an option to register and not submit payment if you do not intend to eat lunch.  To do that fill out the Attendee Information tab, but do not select the WALHDAB Environmental Health $16.00.  If registering another attendee, select Save & Add Another Attendee or if completed select Save & Finalize Registration.

5/26/16 Recent Updates

Posted By Natalie Vandeveld, Thursday, May 26, 2016
NACCHO is Seeking Input for National EH Professional Network Needs Assessment Good morning, NACCHO and the CDC support your ongoing commitment to ensure the health and safety of your community through best practices in environmental health leadership, education, and management. In an effort to better serve our members, NACCHO is asking for your feedback on the extent to which you are currently connecting with other environmental health officials and how to improve collaboration. We are exploring ways to better connect environmental health officials across the nation and we would appreciate your feedback to understand what would be most beneficial to you. To support us in that effort, we ask that you please fill out a brief assessment using the following link: http://naccho.co1.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_3UlwvTpD1HMUs5v Your participation is voluntary. It will take no more than 15 minutes to complete the web assessment. Please complete the assessment by Friday, June 10, 2016. Your responses will be anonymous. The data will be used in aggregate format and will not contain any personal identifying information. NACCHO and CDC will develop a final report which will be shared with CDC senior leadership to make final decisions about forming the network. If you have any questions regarding this assessment, please contact Lindsay Beattie at lbeattie@naccho.org or (202)595-1122. Thank you for your time, Lindsay Beattie
